Launching of the Training Course in Qingdao, China
The first batch of students enrolled in the new curriculum launched by L’École de design Nantes Atlantique in Qingdao have arrived in China.
The first students enrolled in the training program newly set up by L’École de design have hit the Chinese shores in Qingdao on August 29, 2008. They are currently starting the fourth year of a five-year course leading to an Industrial Designer’s Degree. Classes will be taught at L’École de design Nantes Atlantique’s China-based subsidiary.

The specific knowledge acquired during this program will make them into designers with an expertise in Chinese markets.
Currently housed on the Qingdao University campus these 11 designers-to-be are currently following an intensive Chinese-language program prior to doing a 5-month internship in a China-based agency. After completing this work placement they will come back to Qingdao University for two semesters before doing a 4-month internship on the Chinese territory before graduating.
Delighted with the infrastructure put at their disposal - workshop, classrooms, accommodation and access to all facilities available on the Qingdao University campus - the pioneering batch are currently furthering their knowledge of the Chinese language on a daily basis. Their daily 3-hour lessons are a great opportunity for them to get immersed into Chinese culture, which they seem to be embracing eagerly. Moreover they are also socializing with their three Chinese peers also enrolled in the course.
The opening ceremony of L’École de design’s Chinese subsidiary was held on September 13, 2008.
