A French design school

L’École de design Nantes Atlantique is a French private higher education institution founded in 1988 and managed by the French Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Campus université Qingdao

2 Campuses: France/China

It currently enrols 800 students spread into 2 different campuses: one major one in Nantes (France) and another one in Qingdao (Shandong/China).

While the French campus trains students for 5 years in 4 different options (product design, interactive design, graphic design and interior design), the Chinese one is only dedicated to post-graduated students. This first foreign design school in China trains design students for 2 years at a Master’s degree level after they graduated from Nantes school or another design college.

Master’s programs: 7 different majors

The 5-year curriculum leads to a Designer’s Degree certified by the French Ministry of Higher Education and is divided into 7 topic oriented majors:

1 - “Ethically responsible innovation”
2 - “Tangible interfaces”
3 - “New eating habits”
4 - “Mutations of the built environment”
5 - “Virtual reality” (in collaboration with Arts et Métiers ParisTech)
6 - “New mobility”
7 - “Cross-cultural design”

The Master degree taught in Qingdao matches with the “Cross-cultural design” major. It is the first foreign Master’s design program manage by a foreign school in China.

Top-tier national and international networks

The school is a member of the “Conférence des Grandes Écoles” (an institution gathering top-tier education schools in France) and of the Cumulus network (an international association of universities and colleges of art, design and media).

Successful Awards

Each year an average of 10 to 20 pupils win national and international design awards.

Great career prospectives

Graduates work for multi-national corporations (Lego, Kenwood, Décathlon, Smoby, Seb, Maped, Aigle), as well as agencies or companies all over France.
